Each activity category has one Category Leader and three Helpers. They're there to support members and event hosts within that category β not to run every event themselves.
Start with the event's host or co-host β they know the details of that specific gathering. If they're unavailable, or the question is bigger than one event, reach out to one of that category's Helpers. If it's still unresolved, the Category Leader can step in, and from there, Valerie and Kelly.
No. Being a Category Leader or Helper doesn't mean you're responsible for creating or hosting events in that category. Any member can host something she'd like to do β Leaders and Helpers are there to support the community, not to carry the calendar.
Use the Suggest an Event link in the footer to share your idea, along with the date, time, cost and any other details. It goes to Valerie and Kelly for a quick review, and once approved, it's added to the site.
As much or as little as you'd like. Some Helpers simply answer an occasional question or share feedback, and the category team checks in about once a month. There's no minimum commitment beyond that.
When your event goes live, you'll get an email confirming it's posted with a link to the Send Event Update / Cancellation form. Fill in the event name exactly as it appears on the site, choose Cancellation, Update, or Reminder, and write your message β it goes straight to everyone signed up, sent from your email so replies come back to you. Only the event's host, co-host, or an admin can use it for a given event.
